Dr. Mehul Shah is a compassionate and dedicated physician committed to providing exceptional care to his patients and the community. Known for his kindness and attentiveness, Dr. Shah takes the time to truly understand his patients’ concerns, offering thoughtful and personalized treatment for a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions.
Dr. Shah began his academic journey at the University of Texas in Odessa, where he completed his undergraduate studies. He earned his medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNT) in Fort Worth, TX. Following medical school, he pursued his residency in Internal Medicine in Longview, TX, and returned to UNT for a fellowship in Gastroenterology. During his fellowship, he received specialized training in advanced GI procedures, further honing his clinical skills.
Dr. Shah’s passion for liver disease led him to complete an additional fellowship in Transplant Hepatology at Rutgers University Hospital. His clinical interests include hepatology, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and general gastroenterology. He takes pride in helping his patients navigate complex GI conditions with clarity and confidence.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Shah enjoys spending quality time with his family, exploring nature trails through hiking, following NBA basketball, and savoring bold and spicy ethnic cuisines.
